Welcome! And THANK YOU so much for visiting my website. I know life can be really busy so I appreciate you taking what time you have to be here!

I started this journey because of the singular item that has been on my bucket list for years. Writing a book! Not very adventurous, I know…but I really wanted to be able to help parents and children on a broader scale than what my position as a paraeducator was allowing me to. Helping parents and children recognize the correlation between accountability (personal responsibility) and their own happiness and well being is incredibly motivating to me.
Aside from raising my own two children, and being nana to three incredible grandchildren, I have worked for over 20 years in the public school system with children in K-12. I resigned from a full time para position with the school district in 2020, but returned a year later to become a part time Mentor Coordinator at our local high school, along with mentoring a student in the program. Addition personal experiences advocating for children include, running a tutoring program through our church for several years with a teacher friend, providing a home to multiple children in need of emergency placement and, most recently, having the privilege of working alongside classified and certificated staff, providing trainings and support, as we navigate this unprecedented time in our educational system.
My experience with children does not come from a book or clinical sessions. It is the less glamorous “in the trenches” type of experience that I have acquired. I don’t have a plaque to display on my wall signifying any particular accomplishment; just lots and lots of trial and error and a track record for loving on and helping kids to be accountable. My hope is to continue that work through my blog and consulting.
This website for me has been a true labor of love. It isn’t the book on my bucket list (still working on that…) but it is a different (and thrilling!) version beyond what I had even imagined!

Pictured here with my son, Bryer. Bryer, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS). Bryer has studied and been trained in multiple therapy techniques and will be bringing his own insights and parenting strategies to share with you as well as anecdotal stories about his year’s growing up. (I’m only a little worried…) 😉
Thank you again for being here!
