Classroom/Student Observation & Consultation

Teachers, like parents, are able to accomplish far more with willing participants. Instruction and learning can either be fun, productive, and beneficial, or it can be difficult, frustrating, and feel futile. Each day can bring new opportunities and challenges and, as an educator for over 20 years, I know all too well that our hands have become increasing tied when it comes to discipline, consequences, and classroom management options. Philosophies and laws designed to protect children have, in many ways, created a system of more disruption, less accountability, and an overall decline in valuable instruction time with all students ultimately suffering.

As a paraeducator, I developed rapports with and created interventions and strategy plans for individual students and teachers, encouraging better student management, accountability and productivity for the classroom as a whole. When every member of your classroom becomes a contributor to the environment, and not a “taker” of precious instructional time and limited resources, you create a system that is conducive to learning and growing for everyone.

I have worked with teachers from fresh out of college to 30+ year veterans. Collaboration is key in any successful classroom. It truly takes a village more than ever today, and I would love to be a part of yours.

TESTIMONIALS

“Though I only worked with Michele for a short time, she made such a positive impact in my classroom.  At the time, I was working with a group of students with behavioral needs beyond my ability, and was desperately seeking help and support.  Michele took the time to listen to all the things I had already tried, suggest new ideas, and supported me through the process of trying new approaches.  I felt heard and understood through it all.  I especially appreciated her down-to-business attitude, and desire to make positive changes right away, rather than just a pat on the back and empty words.  I knew that every time I went to her, I would be treated without judgement and would always leave with more ideas and just the relief of knowing that I wasn’t alone in my time of struggle.” ~Bethany Y. – 3rd Grade Teacher

“Michele has the unique ability to make thoughtful observations and develop practical plans to manage and improve behavior through positive reinforcement. Michele also communicates with students in a way that gives them the tools to self-reflect on choices. She really provides the opportunity for students to learn how to manage through their own choices and behavior!” ~Sarah H. – 1st grade Teacher
