Individual Observation & Consultation

Whether at home, at school, or both, if your child is having difficulty socially, emotionally, and/or academically it can be hard on everyone. Above all, the child.

As a parent or caregiver you never want to see your child struggle. Maybe you don’t know where to start or how to make the necessary corrections, so you haven’t. Or the things you have tried may not be working and you are running out of ideas and patience. If you are frustrated and not sure where to go from here, I can help.

By learning about and/or observing children in the situations and environments where they have difficulty I am able to create strategies to help them develop life skills like self-regulation and accountability. When done properly, these skills promote and improve productivity, confidence and higher overall self-worth. The child becomes a capable contributor who then reaps the internal and external rewards of their hard work!

TESTIMONIALS

“Mrs. Barmore helped me for 4 years when I was in elementary school. She helped me with my anger issues which were pretty bad back then, and she was persistent with helping me make better choices. She kept me after school for two and a half hours one time until I got my work done. I only had to stay late that one time because I knew she would keep making me stay if I didn’t do my work during class, so I just did it. Mrs. Barmore helped lots of other kids too. She is overall a good helper. I trust her and she has helped me be more confident and responsible. She is very dedicated to kids.” ~Chance (13) – Former student

“Michele was one of the people that my grandson would listen to and work for. She always reminded him how capable and smart he was but told him that he also needed to be accountable. She didn’t let him use excuses for his bad behavior or not getting his work done. She taught my grandson social skills so he could manage his frustration in a better way which helped him so much. Michele didn’t just help my grandson, she helped me too. I would call or text her if I had a problem or a question. She is still always there for us and I am so thankful for her support and the things we learned from her.” ~Elise – Grandparent
