Reading to Learn vs Reading for Fun

Reading can be fun and engaging or it can be stressful and disheartening. The deciding factor often has to do with the level of difficulty the reader is experiencing while trying to read. There are no shortage of studies that conclude the importance of incorporating reading at an early age. Not that we need those studies. Anyone who has experienced working with children that read well and enjoy it, as opposed to those who struggle and are discouraged by it, know that the differences in these children can be significant. While not every child may be a natural reader, it is possible for every child to enjoy reading!
